Shaheen, Risch Introduce Resolution Supporting Lithuania’s Position Against Chinese Aggression

(Washington, DC) – US Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), senior member of the Senate foreign relations committee and chairman of the sub-committee on Europe and regional security cooperation, and Jim Risch (R-ID), senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, introduced a resolution commending the Lithuanian government for strengthening ties with Taiwan and supporting its firm stance against coercion from China.
“China’s efforts to expand its influence across the democracies of Eastern Europe are of concern, and the United States stands in solidarity with Lithuania against China’s abuses. Lithuania’s determination to defend human rights and fight against China’s economic encroachment is commendable ”, said Shaheen. “I am proud to lead this bipartisan resolution with Senator Risch to strengthen US support for Lithuania and Taiwan against Chinese economic manipulation.”
